Singapore colleagues visit Czech Republic
PRAGUE (June 30) - representatives of Yellow Ribbon Singapore and Singapore Prison Service visited the Czech Republic to learn about the Czech criminal justice system and participate in the Yellow Ribbon Run - an event that originated in Singapore.
Four members of the Singapore criminal justice system, three colleagues from Yellow Ribbon Singapore and one from Singapore Prison Service, came for a working visit to the Czech Republic. During the course of their stay, they learned in detail - both in theory and in practice by "field visits" about the Czech Prison Service, Czech Probation and Mediation Service and Rubikon Centre (NGO) - all members of the so-called Yellow Ribbon Platform that organizes the Czech Yellow Ribbon Run. For the first time this year, also the Yellow Ribbon Association (Czech Republic) that is going to take over from Rubikon NGO was present.
The Yellow Ribbon Project originated in Singapore in 2004 and has been since promoting the idea of giving ex-offenders a second chance in life. Raising awareness and support for the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-offenders into the community, the Yellow Ribbon Run has been organized in the Czech Republic since 2016, being directly inspired by the Singapore run.
